Composer, Teacher, Trumpeter

 

His compositions Origin, Clock Work, Emo, It Starts with One, Primal Calling, Fanfare, Majestic Monarch, Train, Omerican Banner Fanfare, and Transcendence have been performed, under his direction, at national music festivals in California, Hawaii, Boston, New York, and Annapolis which includes the two famous venues Boston Symphony Hall and Carnegie Hall. The works received praises from music professors and educators Gary Hill, Craig Kirchhoff, Robert Reynolds, Wesley Broadnax, Timothy Smith, Ron Nielson, Dave Eshelman, Micheal Boitz, and Tim Harris to name a few.

Currently, Kevin Cato's most recent composition, Transcendence!, received praise from Frank Tiichelli at the Chabot College Wind Band Festival. Later the composition was performed in Annapolis, MD as part of the nationally adjudicated Music Heritage Festival of Annapolis. The Mt. Eden High Wind Symphony earned the highest honors of the festival and Transcedence! received critical acclaim from all of the adjucators including the Emeritus Commander Raymond A. Ascione and the current US Navy Band Master himself!
